SUBMISSIONS

This conference accepts only submissions of papers.

Each participant can be a submitting author of one paper, and a co-author of another paper.

Only original papers that have not been published or submitted elsewhere can be considered for acceptance.

We are planning for about 80 participants and the criteria for acceptance will be: (i) relevance to the conference topic, and (ii) quality of the submission. Papers not sufficiently relevant to the conference topic will be excluded from the review process. For more details on criteria for acceptance, see the author guidelines.

Submissions will be managed by the Conftool conference registration system (https://www.conftool.org/etc2026). Before submitting the paper, the submitting author needs to register in the ConfTool. We recommend that the submitting author be the one to present the paper at the conference. Only submitting authors of accepted papers (or their designated substitute from among other authors of the paper) are guaranteed to attend the conference. The number of participants who are not submitting authors will be limited; it will depend on the capacity of the venue and the number of papers accepted. Authors will be given priority over non-authors but a maximum of two authors per accepted paper will participate in the conference. Thank you for your understanding.

Submitting authors upload two files to the Conftool: a Word file (.doc or .docx) and a PDF file (.pdf), both titled using the name of the submitting author.

The maximum length of a paper submission is eight pages, including references, figures and appendices. Use the latest CERME template and adhere to the author guidelines. Do not forget to follow APA7 guidelines; you can find sample references here.

Submissions that do not follow the template, or are longer than eight pages, will not be accepted. They will be excluded from the review process.

The submission of the paper is only valid after the 50 euro pre-registration fee payment has been received to the conference bank account. If the payment is not received by 26th September 2025, the paper will not be considered.

The review process

All papers go through an open review process in which those who submit papers are asked to act as peer reviewers for other papers submitted to the conference. Each submitting author will be asked to review two papers at most. Co-authors may also be asked to participate in the review process. The peer reviewers are expected to adhere to the reviewer guidelines and fill in their reviews in the review form in the Conftool. Conference leaders can decide to reject a paper if its authors do not correctly contribute to the review process. The conference collaborative work starts during the review process.

Conference leaders will inform the authors about the review decision (revisions needed, rejected) by 31st October 2025.

Final versions of papers have to be uploaded to the Conftool by 24th November 2025. Conference leaders will inform the authors about the decision on the revised papers (accepted, rejected) by 1st December 2025.

Accepted papers

Accepted papers will be published before the conference in the electronic conference proceedings and presented by at least one of the authors at the conference.

The acceptance of the paper is only valid after the full-registration fee payment has been received to the conference bank account. If the payment is not received by 17th December 2025, the paper will not be included in the proceedings and will not be allowed to be presented at the conference.
